Fired Earth announces the launch of its Moderne kitchen collection by Charles Smallbone.

Moderne is Fired Earth’s first fitted kitchen collection and it will be launched with a complete design and fitting service. The collection is built around a simple and practical design, which draws on Charles’ expertise in kitchens and offers solutions that work well in both contemporary and traditional homes.

Made from beech and oak veneer from sustainable sources, and with a range of painted finishes, the Moderne collection is a new concept in affordable luxury. The range takes in elements you would expect to see in a bespoke kitchen and makes them more widely available.

Quality is key to the Moderne collection. Hand-crafted in France exclusively for Fired Earth by its sister company, Grange, close attention has been paid to clever detailing and accessorisation.

Charles Smallbone says: “A kitchen is about space, function and aesthetic and you have to get all three right. We wanted to create a system that would work in every home. The accent has been very much on angularity of design. This is evident in the cupboards, in the handles, the worktop detailing and in the cornicing.”

The materials used in the Moderne collection are of the very highest quality. The work surfaces and splashbacks are available in a selection of granite and marble finishes. The collection is built to last and, importantly, not to date.

Charles Smallbone added: “The one thing that has been missing from the fitted kitchen market is beautiful products at a sensible price and that is exactly what we have produced.

“The AGA-Rangemaster Group has everything to make this work. It has an established retail channel, the design-led values of the Fired Earth brand and the artisan skills of the craftsmen at Grange. I felt that by working with the group, I had the unique opportunity to produce something special and something the market  was crying out for. Individuality can be achieved with accessorisation and through the materials used. I really wanted to design something pared down, simple to understand and with a lightness of touch. The detail is all-important – mirrors in cupboards create a feeling of light and space, glass shelves add a luxurious dimension and there’s real beauty in the simplicity of the design.”

The Moderne kitchen is available in a choice of 12 colours from Fired Earth’s paint collection, which can be mixed and matched to create unique schemes. Pieces from the range can be customised with a number of interior accessories and lighting options available.

The Moderne kitchen is initially available within the M25 area only.
